Art 107 - Digital Photography Workshop

DirecTV is for the Birds
I took this photo this summer. This bird hung out outside my window all the time. It lived in a hole in my neighbor's house. I wonder if it is that bird's poop on the dish and that's why he/she is staring at it.

Last semester I took a floral design class and every week I came home with loads of awesome arrangements. Because flowers eventually die, I began preserving my works of art by photographing them. Then I started experimenting with lighting and well, I became obsessed with the potential that photography offers. Needless to say...I have tons of pictures of flowers.

I suppose, technically, I am a Nursing Major--with only three classes left to graduate with my BSN. Through a series of unfortunate events, I decided to/was forced to take a break from the world of nursing. During this hiatus, I have rediscovered my creative abilities. I haven't felt this passionate about anything in a very long time.

And I am usually late for class. And this class starts in 12 minutes. Dang it.

Procrastination

So I have been meaning to start a blog since like March. My intended "posts" are waiting very patiently inside the notebook I reserved for projects, ideas, yadda yadda yadda. It's the yaddas I'm trying to organize here in this blog, hence amalgamation in the title. Being a "Jill of all trades" can be rough--and having an unorganized head doesn't help. I need to have it all in one place. All these hobbies and projects and ideas. A place other than my apartment floor or sloppy, scattered notebook.

Oh and the reason I finally sat down and started this blog is because it's assigned for a class! When I have a reason to do something for something other than my own entertainment, then, I'll do it. usually.

Here is the first assignment to be seen in my next post:

Make your first blog post. Your first post should consist of one photograph that you shot at any point in time that you were happy with as well as a short paragraph explaining your background/bio, your major in school, and what your interest in photography is...

I'm on it!
